This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help bring our Culinary Arts herb garden to life! We’re aiming to create a beautiful, functional garden right outside our classroom, where students will grow and harvest fresh herbs like thyme, oregano, mint, rosemary, chives, dill, and more. This garden will be more than just a source of fresh ingredients for cooking; it will be a living classroom where students can learn about sustainable gardening, develop essential life skills, and experience the therapeutic benefits that come from nurturing plants.

Gardening offers a unique opportunity for students to connect with nature, reduce stress, and improve their mental well-being, providing a calm, rewarding space for learning outside of the traditional classroom.

As students care for the garden—watering, tending, and nurturing each herb—they'll witness the tangible results of their hard work. They'll also learn the art of drying herbs and integrating them into delicious dishes they prepare themselves, making the farm-to-table concept a reality right here at school.

To get started, we need your support. We're seeking donations to improve the soil quality, provide the necessary fertilizer, and purchase young herb plants that are ready to be transplanted into the garden. Your contribution will help our students grow not only herbs but also an appreciation for the natural world, practical gardening skills, and the satisfaction of creating something from the ground up.
