This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Help my classroom learn and explore new foods. We are a school in the Washington Heights/Inwood community. My students have been interested in how plants grow and their cycles. My students are interested in planting their own food and exploring different healthy options. We are asking for hydroponics to build our classroom garden with fresh herbs and vegetables. We are also looking for small plants to take care of and compare the difference between edibles and non-edibles. We are looking for heat mats to ensure during the cold winter months our plants/ vegetables have the proper heat and light to thrive.
