This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 25 of the hardest working 5th graders in Bronx, New York.

My fifth graders will be the first graduating class in the history of our school! My students come to school every day with eagerness and enthusiasm to learn. As their teacher, I feel joy in the positive experiences that my students gain in my classroom. As we begin a new school year, please support my students with brand new books for our growing library!

My students come to school every day with eagerness and enthusiasm to learn. As their teacher, I feel joy in the positive experiences that my students gain in my classroom. As we embark on this school year, please support my students with brand new club books to foster a love for reading!

My students are voracious readers and have requested many fantasy books to read during our Book Club Unit.

Many of the books on this list include diverse characters from many different walks of life. I am requesting multiple copies of books written by these authors so that I can meet with students in small groups. These books will also be used during books clubs and help fill our growing library.

When students read more, they learn more, and are exposed to different genres and writing styles.They also fall in love with reading and reading becomes a lifelong endeavor. Having all of these extra reading options in my classroom will continue to foster a lifelong love of reading for my students!
