Help me give my students give my students the ability to stay "sharp" by building up their fine motor skills with more than just pencils and worksheets!
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
While my playful students & I have been getting back into the swing of school, we have had to face challenges created by almost three years of COVID; one alarming concern is a large decrease in fine motor development.
Fine motor skills involve dexterity and coordination crucial for drawing, writing, and life skills such as zippering and tying shoes.
We need to build back these skills with different textures and objectives (like squishing, stacking, and sorting) in order for the students to be as independent as possible throughout their lives.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
