This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A typical day in our athletic training room, starts off by discussing a game plan for what is going on for that day. We cover necessities for each practice and game coverage. By the end of the plan, everyone understands the tasks that need to be done, in order to keep a safe environment.

Each student is attentive and seeks to learn more about athletic injuries in the event that an athlete were to sustain an injury.

My students are the type of individuals that have their eyes set on a career in the sports medicine field or in another medical field. As an athletic trainer at my high school, the administration is engulfed in providing safety to all athletes and students. Without the support from all staff and administration, my job would be stressful. Working as a team, we can continue to provide a safe environment and tackle each obstacle

My Project

My students need medical fanny packs to carry their equipment that is needed to treat the injured athlete. Envision a game day where athletic training students wear medical fanny packs which will contain flashlights, athletic tape, bandaids, gauze, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) masks. The flashlights will be used to diagnose concussions by looking at the athletes pupils for dilation or constriction. Athletic tape is necessary in order to stabilize injuries such as the common ankle sprain. Bandaids and gauze will be used for any open wounds that commonly occur in contact sports. Lastly, CPR masks will be used to revive any athlete that will become unconscious on the field. Each one of these items are crucial in working on the field and giving athletic students the necessary material to care for an athlete on the spot.

Donations to fund this project will continue to improve our students' lives and the athletic training field.

As well as teaching the students medical treatment for an injured individual.
