This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Teaching ESOL and ESE students Reading is a very rewarding task. Each student that walks into class is an eager learner and willing to try their best. Each day poses new opportunities for these children to put their new language skills into practice. Reading is fundamental for these students and having a classroom environment that is accessible to learning is what drives them every day to want to learn, along with knowing that they will have opportunities to use several techniques and methods to enhance their skills in reading, reading comprehension, and vocabulary.

My Project

Technology is on the front-line of education. Having access to tablets in the classroom will allow students to utilize educational websites to reinforce skilled taught to them. An important component to language acquisition is practice and repetition. By having a technological device readily available for students to use, especially when working in differentiated instructional groups, will allow them to have a fun way to practice skills, such as reading comprehension and vocabulary, in order to obtain mastery.

ESE students also benefit from having tablets in the classroom by giving them an opportunity to have fun while learning, which will allow them to be more receptive to important skills and concepts taught during class time.
