My Students

I teach at a unique urban school. My students come from a variety of backgrounds. I teach students Kindergarten through fifth grade, and many of them have individual needs that do not allow them to attend a traditional school on a daily basis.

Many of my students have emotional and social issues, frequent medical treatments, safety concerns, difficulty in a traditional school setting and/or are homeless.

My students each face their own challenges every day outside of school. Some are grade levels behind, and others are grade levels ahead.

My Project

My students love science! They love to play games! I would like to put together family game night packs for my students to take home to enjoy with their family. These packs would include Makey Makey sets, Suspend family game, Science Ninjas, and Hit the Habitat games. These games will foster family fun and learning in STEM content areas such as; Chemistry, Life Science, Physics, Engineering and Coding.

Students can share their love of STEM with their families by bringing home fun, grade-level appropriate, science-based games to play for family game night.
