Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember when you were younger and loved family game nights or nights that you spent together as a family? My students enjoy spending time with their families and would love to share these learning packs with them! Together, the students can work on reading and phonics skills.

My kindergarten students are eager to learn and be challenged.

They always want new experiences and activities that keep them engaged and active learners. They enjoy spending time with their families and showing them how much they know and have learned. The school that I work in has many families that are struggling financially and do not always have books and tools to work with their children at home. Even though many families have limited resources, they are always looking for ways to work with their children at home and become involved in their child's education. With the Take-Home Learning Packs, the students would bring home the resources that they will need to work with their families and enjoy a family night together while learning at the same time.

My Project

These Take-Home Learning Packs will give the kindergarten students and families a chance to work together and use resources that are age appropriate. My students and their families will be positive impacted because the Take-Home packs provide books and manipulatives for hands-on experiences that the family can work on together. Literacy development is crucial at the kindergarten age, and the families would be able to be a part of this development no matter what resources they have at home. My students will be able to work cooperatively with their families to read and play games to foster a love of learning together.

With your help, you will be able to do so. My students would love to bring home a Take-Home Learning Pack each week and to enjoy learning at home with their families. In rough economic times, these families are not always able to spend money on resources to help their children at home, but with your help, you will open the door to a successful home/school partnership.
