Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I plan to add bilingual books to my class library and I will also use for my family library. My students will love to take home and have a book read by a family member. Being that it’s mom, dad, abuelo or even an older hermano!

I decided to incorporate bilingual books because I want to make sure that families will be able to connect and read to their little ones in their home language.

I serve a community where there is a high percentage of Spanish speaking families. Therefore, I want books to be enjoyed by all in the home.

Many of these books are picture books. They have vibrant colors. The story is told by just looking at the pictures. If there is a family member that encounters a challenge to read the words they can make up a story with the pictures to the child.

This will have everyone included enjoying books at home! Which is what I want to accomplish with this project !!
