My students need World History: Preparing for the Advanced Placement Examination (Student Edition Softcover) to access the best resources available for one of the most difficult history courses offered to high school students.

My Students

My students will be learning about the rise and fall of Empires in both Ancient and Modern History. My wish and challenge for them this year is to teach them how to make connections with the past, to recognize continuities throughout history, make comparisons between civilizations.

My students are very diverse, both ethnically and economically.

We are the premier arts and academic high school in a large city. Students have to audition to gain entrance, as well as prove themselves academically. This year the College Board has changed the format of AP World History and our students need new review materials to be available to them, many of whom cannot afford them.

My Project

I have extraordinary students and who are constantly challenging themselves both academically and artistically on a daily basis. The textbooks we use are good, but can be very dense, difficult to read and do not always include great information on important events, such as the French Revolution and Industrial Revolution, which the New York State curriculum requires us to incorporate.

This AP World History Review Book will help give all of my students, regardless of income level, access to a great resource that will help them better understand global events and issues.

I am always looking for good resources and activities to supplement their knowledge. I will be using these AMSCO World History Review Book throughout the year as a supplemental text to help them break down and understand the issues better, to enable them to make stronger connections with history and identify patterns of interaction. It is not only a book that is designed to help prepare them for the AP exam, whose structure has changed for the upcoming school year, but one that covers a greater variety of events than their actual textbook.
