Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our class is an inclusive setting with a galaxy full of bright stars. The challenges that face them on a day to day basis are not only academic but also physical and emotional. All of these students live below the poverty line and need federal assistance to make ends meet.

They do not have the experiences and the means that most children their age have adding another layer of disadvantages that they face daily.

We want to be able to bridge this gap as best as we can.

My Project

We are Fall-ing for fiction! We are launching our reader’s workshop by learning about characters, and story elements. Immersing ourselves in fiction with one problem....we don’t have enough books to hold our interests! Our classroom library needs a definite upgrade! These titles are ones we choose ourselves, and are guaranteed to hold our interest. We will be able to fill our packs with great books that we can use at home and school. Our learning goals will come alive when we have these new and awesome fiction books to learn with.
