Fall in Love with Reading in 6th Grade

Help me give my students new books to build up our classroom library, plus some bookmarks and desk shields.

My Project

This year I teach four ELA classes of 6th grade students at a large public school in Queens, NYC. My students are bright, inquisitive, and hardworking. They come from a variety of different cultures and backgrounds, but are united by the desire to learn and grow together as they begin their middle school years.

For this project, I am asking for some new hardcover books to build up our classroom library.

Independent reading is key for students to keep up their skills and develop into lifelong learners, and with your help I would like to supply these four classes with a curated selection of more books to choose from that they will enjoy reading.

I am also asking for some bookmarks for students to track their reading progress, and a set of desk dividers to ensure privacy and concentration during class tests and quizzes. I hope you will consider supporting my students as they begin their middle school career this year in the 6th grade. Thank you!
