My Students

My high school students come from all different backgrounds and cultures. Every day they prove that diversity is a strength—that when people with different perspectives work together, everyone benefits. My students love to participate in different mathematics projects that will help develop knowledge and skills that will be applied to real-life situations. As I observe them, I am constantly amazed by their work ethics and enthusiasm when it comes to working together and solving real-world problems.

My Project

I want to support and REWARD my students and give them incentives for their hard work, positive behavior, perseverance, and academic accomplishments. Many of the students have been struggling with remote learning but show up every day to take on the challenges.

I want to support and REWARD my students and give them incentives to motivate them.

Since I do not see my students in person this year, providing them with individualized incentives is important to me. These incentives of gift cards will allow me to connect with my students beyond the classroom and reward them for their efforts. Making connections with students outside the classroom help me learn about each student individually and their specific needs both academically and personally.

Providing these incentives will keep learning alive in my math class while building deeper relationships with my students.
