This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are creative, ingenious, and resilient. Like students in most urban school districts, they face a lack of funding for resources and technology. In spite of these challenges, they come to class each day ready to learn!
This year our class has made it our goal to incorporate STEM and Project Based Learning to find solutions to the issues we are facing as a school district during these unprecedented times!
My Project
According to the CDC, COVID-19 spreads mainly from person to person through respiratory droplets. Respiratory droplets travel into the air when you cough, sneeze, talk, shout, or sing. Masks are a simple barrier to help prevent your respiratory droplets from reaching others. Studies show that masks reduce the spray of droplets when worn over the nose and mouth.
With your assistance students will research and design face shields to encourage their classmates to wear!
This assignment will not only assist in preventing the spread of Covid-19, but it will develop our student's ability to respond and resolve realistic problems facing our world today!
