My Project

Please help me provide multiple materials for my first grade students. Having a document camera will help me show students manipulatives up close and all together and also become more efficient in my teaching. COVID-19 showed us how unpredictable the world can be and with that the learning environment can be. A document camera will also provide me peace of mind if I needed to teach virtually.

Providing my students multiple books will help develop their social emotional skills.

These kids have never known a "normal" school year prior to COVID-19. These books are a great fun way to work on skills they may be lacking.

As a teacher I need to be organized in order to teach efficiently. Totes, note pads, anchor chart paper, laminate, card stock, along with other tools I have asked for will allow my classroom to run smoothly and help my students be more successful. I especially am hoping for the handheld mirrors to use during our phonics lesson so that my students can watch their mouths make the sounds and make those connections.

The last thing I have asked for is building and engineering toys for my students. Every morning we start our day playing and building. The power of purposeful play is extremely important for students. It promotes social skills, critical thinking skills, and many more skills students may be lacking in especially due to the time in quarantine.
