Fabulous First Grade Friends!

My students need a new communication station to organize our large class and keep communication flowing. They also need supplies (crayons, books, pencils) for our move from 18 to 32 students.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

In our classroom, we are a community of successful learners. We work hard to reach our goals but still make time for being silly firsties!

We are a class full of energetic and enthusiastic first graders.

Our school is Title One and located in the inner city. Unfortunately, due to budget cuts we are going from a class of 18 to a class of 32. Getting my students to where they need to be at the end of the year will be challenging but we will get there with your help!

My Project

Effective communication is key, having a designated place for work folders and homework helps keep us organized. Plus moving from 18 to 32, our old communication station will not accommodate all of our students. Center time is a GREAT way for students to practice basic skills. Having ready to use centers in math and literacy frees up time to make sure that each student is getting what they need. Routine writing is a HUGE push in education right now. Having draw and write journals that students can practice writing stories in is a big help in furthering their writing skills. Basic supplies like crayons and pencils are often taken for granted.
