My Project

My students are not exposed to innovative technology at home or at school. Many of them have no idea what a 3D printer is or what it is capable of. My students live and breathe sports. They spend their days at practice and come home late at night. They do not even have time to complete homework. Covid-19 has single handedly held my students back academically to the point that they have no foundational skills in reading, writing, or math. Students have been emotionally hit hard as well. They would rather fight, than solve their problem using words. They have no hope for the future and have no idea what they want to be when they grow up.

A 3D printer will help my students to be motivated to be in school daily and realize that there is more to life than sports.

It will expose them to innovative technology and allow them to be creative in a new way. This will build up their self-confidence to be successful. It can also be used as a reward for students for coming to school or even completing their assignments. This will give them the drive that they need to be more. The 3D printer can also help other students on campus be exposed to innovative technology by hosting STEM nights or after school clubs/activities.
