My Students

I teach a very creative and curious bunch of third graders at a Title I school! Each child in my classroom is engaged in some type of learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best varies. We have a variety of learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! They are an inspiring group, and I am so thankful to have a ​fantastic group of students that bring their best each day and are ready to explore daily no matter what their home lives!

My Project

Students are in the classroom for 7-8 hours during the day. Sitting in a room with fluorescent bulbs beaming down on your paper can cause eye strain and blurry vision and therefore, giving you distracted and unwilling students. This project is helping decrease the distraction of vision problems of all students who enter in my room. By blocking harmful rays of UV lights, students will be able to focus their attention on engaging lessons.

Students won't have to worry about their eyes, instead they will have one less concern and enjoy the classroom to its full potential.

These light shields are easy to install. They are magnetic and can be put to use right away!
