Many teenagers have a hard time expressing themselves, especially when in school and around their peers. The way that my students like to express feelings is through extracurricular activities such as ART! I currently teach 7th grade art in a Title 1 school. I work with a bunch of motivated students, who want to create works of art!

The obstacle that my students are facing is the dearth of art supplies available to them. My students show an interest in drawing. Children of all ages go through a tough time in school, and I feel that art will let them be creative without being judged.

I want to introduce them to SCRATCH ART, which allows them to draw with a stick. The scratch art reveals all different colors when you scratch the stick onto a piece of carbon paper. The students will be very excited to experiment with this new aspect of drawing.

You can make a difference in my students' lives! I truly believe that there are many lessons available to students through art. I am excited to introduce new ideas to them. Thank you.
