Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

SHOW US WHAT YOU KNOW! My students are working hard on science exit projects and are anxiously hoping we can gather the funds to get them poster boards to display all of their amazing work! Inspiring children to search for knowledge and share their knowledge is a step towards a brighter tomorrow!

My students are charismatic middle schoolers from diverse backgrounds.

With warm hearts and big dreams, many just lack the resources and means to have unlimited opportunities to delve into science. I believe that as teachers, we have the duty and the gift of giving 110 percent to helping our students access the educational experiences they all deserve.

My Project

My students are working on their science exit projects that require them to conduct animal behavior research on the animals in the Madagascar exhibit at the Bronx Zoo! They will be preparing full reports and presentations! The only thing stopping them from making bright, bold and beautiful posters is an unlimited resource supply. My students will be using these posters in their exit project research groups to help display and share all of their hard work and scientific findings!

As my eighth graders close on this final chapter in their middle school careers, I truly feel this science exit project can have a lasting impact on their educational future.

The goal of this project is to show them how to question, how to observe and how to go about finding the answers to our "wonders" and "questions." These posters will give them a memento of all of their research, and be a constant reminder that determination and effort can allow anyone, from anywhere, to do anything.
