Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students of the band are a bright, kind, and caring group of students. But living in the heart of Little Havana means that the necessary materials for creating music can be prohibitively expensive. After having to purchase expensive mouthpieces and supplies, they may not be able to afford back-up reeds should they ever have an instrument mishap. Reeds cannot be shared either, especially in the wake of a global pandemic.

This project will help supply the band with the woodwind reeds necessary to allow the students to safely and securely create music every day, as well as the materials to repair our string bass.
