Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our elementary school serves approximately 650 children living in the South Bronx, a low-income community in New York City. My 4th grade students are goal oriented scholars who strive to be their very best despite their learning disabilities.

My students enjoy learning through hands on exploration and collaborative discussions.

As a Special Education Teacher working in an inclusive classroom setting, I am passionate about providing a warm and safe space for each scholar to learn. With their various learning styles and needs, it is necessary to differentiate instruction. For this reason, it is my desire to develop a student-centered environment that makes learning fun and easy for students of all needs.

My Project

In our classroom, students are given the choice to write or type their work on Chromebooks and print to be published on our classroom bulletin boards. I would like the opportunity to provide students with colorful options to help them share their creative thinking.

Please help me provide my students with ink and paper to share their thinking, as well as the ability to print out needed resources to expand their learning. It takes a lot to motivate my students, and I believe every little bit will help. We thank you in advance!
