Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach second grade in an urban school district. The school services students pre-k to eighth grade. Our school is a community school. It provides health, dental, and after school services.

My students are diverse and come from different ethnic, religious, and social economical backgrounds.

My students are eager to learn and come in with a smile on their face everyday. My students are always willing to lend a hand to each other and share their learning with classmates, family members, and school staff.

My Project

I am asking for leveled guided reading sets for my classroom. These books will greatly help my students improve their reading. Currently in my classroom I do not have fiction books for guided reading. I am borrowing from other teachers classrooms. I would love to have my own set of books so that I do not have to disrupt any other teacher.

I have a diverse set of students reading on all different reading levels.

By having multiple sets of guided reading books it will allow my students to read a variety of different books. These books will allow my students to become sufficient and successful readers.
