Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are fabulous! They come to class ready to learn, ready to work, and explore new things every day. They are an energetic crew that wants to learn. They set goals for themselves and then strive to meet them both at school and at home.

My second graders live in a rural/suburban public school district.

They are constantly working to better their reading level and increase math skills, and they love learning new concepts in both science and social studies.

My Project

My second graders have lived through all kinds of learning since March 2020. They have experienced full remote, hybrid, and full face to face learning. They are hard workers who strive to become readers and leaders.

Scholastic News will give us the engaging and on-level non-fiction content we need to improve reading skills.

My students will love getting to hold and keep their own weekly copy and they will be able to read it online if distance learning becomes necessary again. Since so much of their education has been online, handwriting skills have suffered a bit and the lined paper will give them the opportunity to improve those skills and of course second graders love the immediate reward of a sticker! With the RTI intervention book, I will be able to help individual students with specific reading needs.
