Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students are passionate about using art as a means to express their identity, experiences, and feelings about their community. We are seeking funding for paint markers to support a mural and graffiti art project. This initiative will allow students to engage with visual art to represent their personal narratives and visions of the Bronx.

Through this project, students will have the opportunity to collaborate on creating a large-scale mural, as well as individual graffiti pieces, that showcase their pride in the Bronx and challenge dominant narratives.

We believe that art provides a powerful platform for our students to explore and communicate their unique perspectives, all while deepening their connection to the community.
