Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The sensory tools and creative materials I am requesting—such as markers, coloring books, slime, and tools for making slime—will provide my students with hands-on, engaging ways to regulate their emotions, build fine motor skills, and increase their focus in the classroom. Many of my students benefit from sensory experiences to help them stay engaged and manage sensory input throughout the day. By incorporating these materials, I can create a more inclusive learning environment that supports self-regulation, creativity, and stress reduction, allowing students to be more successful in their academic and social learning.

My goal is to build a sensory-friendly space in my classroom where students can access materials that support their emotional and academic success.

By providing a variety of sensory learning tools, I aim to help students develop coping strategies, improve fine motor and problem-solving skills, and enhance their ability to focus on learning tasks. Additionally, this project will allow for more hands-on, student-led exploration, fostering creativity and curiosity in a way that traditional classroom resources may not.

My students are incredible, resilient, and full of potential. They are neurodivergent learners who thrive in environments that honor their individual strengths and needs. Many of them require alternative ways to access learning, regulate emotions, and engage with their peers. Their curiosity, determination, and ability to think outside the box inspire me every day. This project is designed to celebrate their unique learning styles and provide them with the tools they need to succeed in their own way.
