My Project

I work at a Middle School, in the heart of Denver. I've been the speech-language pathologist in this building for six years. The bulk of my caseload includes students on the Autism Spectrum with moderate-severe needs. These students struggled to build communication skills during the pandemic, as many of them could not independently access remote learning and require consistent hands-on learning. I would love to use the selected items to target functional communication skills: sequencing, making inferences, identifying facial expressions, building conversational skills, describing pictures, categorizing objects, and answering questions. Board games and puzzles keep my students motivated and engaged. Alternative seating, such as wobble chairs, support with movement and attention to task. Thank you so much for considering me!
