My Students

Take a walk into my classroom and you will see the most eager, intelligent fourth graders you could ever imagine!

My students are curious, active and always keep me on my toes!

They love learning and always give me their all. Most importantly, we are a family and we always take care of each other. My students know that no matter their circumstances, we will push through together! As their teacher, I strive to make learning intentional, but fun! I want school to be the place to be, not the place kids have to be!

My Project

It is no secret that there is a mental health crisis in our society today. Kids are faced with pressures and situations that they should not be - which results in feelings and reactions that are often times misrepresented and misinterpreted.

In my classroom, I strive to create a space where students feel validated and safe because I don't just teach the curriculum, I teach children.

Using the Zones of Regulation Curriculum and affiliated resources I intend to implement this program in my classroom in an effort to teach my students strategies for emotional and sensory self-management. Through daily social lessons, my students will learn to notice their body’s signals, detect triggers, read social context, and consider how their behavior impacts those around them, they will learn improved emotional control, sensory regulation, self-awareness, and problem-solving abilities.

The other requested materials will help me to grow in my skills of learning to decode behaviors and implement strategies to help my students be the best they can be!
