My Project

Little scholars have feelings that can be overlooked. Some of my scholars in prekindergarten to grade 2 have difficulty expressing their needs verbally. This can cause them to act out or shut down.

I believe my scholars would benefit greatly from having a nurturing nook where they can deep breathe using stress balls and a projector, identify their feelings while coloring in a coloring book, and sit in a comfy chair with pillows.

In addition, scholars can listen to calming sounds, and use the tent, lights, lamp, and rug to relax and think about their behavior. The nurturing nook would be used to calm and refocus scholars in order to return back to the classroom community.
