My Students

My students are like the students on The Magic School Bus joining me on this Computer Science adventure. We're a school in East New York, Brooklyn, NYC. I'm looking to expose students at this school and other schools interested in starting Computer Science programs. We will be taking numerous field trips to expose as many students as possible to various career fields of Computer Science.

Most of my students are from families that are below the poverty line, some from shelters and some from broken homes with an eagerness to learn.

This school year I'm trying to create a classroom with various types of Computer Science materials that go beyond coding on the computer. This school year we would like to use physical computing devices in our Computer Science program.

My Project

Students and their families will be exposed, engaged and motivated in computer science careers. Using our Lego sets will allow students to see the abilities of computer science in action. They will build their foundation of how computer science can be used to alter community and social projects with a meaningful purpose. Our student minds will flourish with creativity. This project will help them create solutions for the social and emotional issues many encounter. They will become the creative ingenious workers of tomorrow with the exposure they gain today. We've discussed the various ways science is everywhere and students come up with many solutions about how science will improve the living conditions around the world. The Lego Mindstorm and Lego Wedo kits will allow us to expose them to the many aspects of computer science so our students can aim for the moon, if they miss they might be able to grab some stars.
