I use white boards in my classroom to help keep my students engaged and focused. Each child has a white board to use for practicing math skills, spelling, editing sentences, planning writing, and responding to literature. The students enjoy using the boards, and it keeps them engaged in the lesson. Having a board on hand reduces time off task. This not only helps them stay focused, but also reduces behavior issues since the students are active in the lessons and not distracted.
Today's students have many distractions that make it difficult for them to stay focused and engaged.
I have seen positive results from each of my students through the use of white boards. Having a supply on hand will allow us to continue this daily practice without the worry of running out of supplies!
