My Students

My students are excited to come to school each day to learn from one another. They love working in collaborative groups to solve a problem or explore new learning. Anytime we can use technology in the classroom, there is a special buzz in the air. My students are intentional about having a growth mindset and can't wait to share their mistakes. After all, great ideas come from problems!

Jane Goodall once said, "You cannot get through a single day without having an impact on the world around you.

What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make." With this quote in mind, I want to help my students become aware of the impact they are having on the world around them.

My Project

I was inspired by Ms. Biello's "First Lego League" project because I want to introduce the world of coding and robotics to my 2nd grade students. No one should be left out due to lack of materials. I am requesting Tin Can Robots and a set of AAA batteries so my second graders can build them and experiment with them at home with their families. My hope is all students will have access to robotics and gain support from parents to pursue their passion.

Tin Can Robots will spark a love for coding, which is the new language of the 21st century.

Second graders will enter the world of coding and robotics by building a tin can robot. Parents and students will work together to explore the limits of the robots while discovering the limitless possibilities of robotics.
