My Students

Each day is a new adventure in Room 134. We are constantly challenging one another to think deeper and to dream bigger. By the end of the year, I want my students to be prepared to not only learn, but to be teachers themselves. A chance to share our knowledge with one another is our biggest goal.

The students in my classroom are deep-thinking Scientists, Technology-experts, innovative Engineers and problem-solving Mathematicians, which is what STEM is all about.

They thrive on being able to engage with hands-on and interactive activities and materials. There is always a question to be answered, a problem to be solved and a solution for getting there.

My Project

In Room 134 we start the day by engaging in literacy and math activities that help my students practice skills that they need to be life long learners. Throughout the day, we use various forms of technology so that my students can get practical life skills using tools that they will encounter every day. The success I have seen in student learning when technology is involved is amazing and I want to see more of that in my classroom. By having iPod touches, students will be able to practice scholarly work through games, research and project creation. As a project-based learning school, it is important for our students to be able to create final products to share their learning and technology is a fabulous gateway to allow students to do just that.

We live in a world where technology is king.

Today, children are able to use computers, tablets, and phones better than most adults. They thrive off of their interaction with technology. It motivates them to learn more and it also helps them practice educational skills that they need to be scholars. Please help my students be able to access a resource that can help them be the successful scholars I know that they are!
