My Students

My students and I spent this year in distance learning. Even though distance learning has been a struggle for my students in different ways, we have created amazing routines, art projects and science experiments. At the end of February, many of my students and I will be returning to in-school learning. It will be challenging and wonderful at the same time. I am requesting these supplies to get my classroom ready for our upcoming circumstances.

We are living through history.

My students are incredible people. They come with tenacity, creativity, and a wide variety of experiences and gifts. We work hard every day as scholars, artists, critical thinkers, and friends.

My Project

As we begin to return to in-school learning, I want students to have the tools to get out into our environment and explore. Even though our in-school experience will look different, students will still need to have the ability to move away from screens and get outside into the real world.

These backpacks will make sure all my students have access to the tools they need to explore their surroundings.

With the nature books, magnifying glasses and bug viewers I've requested students will be able to identify trees, bugs and birds in the environment near our school. We will record our findings with the color pencils. We will create art projects with the sidewalk chalk and yarn to beautify our school's neighborhood. I am certain that these materials will make a difference to my students and their social emotional well-being during this particularly challenging school year. Thank you for considering this project.
