My Project

My scholars are a creative and innovative group. My goal is to help them realize their potential by cultivating academic excellence and recognizing their individual strengths. While there have been many new challenges this school year as we navigate new ways of learning since the COVID-19 pandemic, my scholars are meeting these challenges with resilience, flexibility, and perseverance.

We are always considering ways to make our small-group instruction more approachable, relevant, culturally diverse, and fun.

Our scholars this year are very interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) exploration and love exploring our LEGO bin during free choice time or indoor recess. For this reason, I'd like to supply our classroom with several LEGO kits that will allow students to explore STEM while also learning perseverance, problem-solving, following a set of directions, and using their imaginations. I've also chosen sets that go along with our state standards: the space shuttle goes with several nonfiction stories my scholars have read about Apollo 11 and the moon landing; the unicorn transforms into a seahorse or peacock, which goes along with our science standards of habitats and animal adaptations; and the dinosaur goes along with our study of fossils.
