My Students

Sixth graders come to me from a mixture of elementary schools and backgrounds...ranging from learning science every year to never having had a single science class. Hands on demonstrations are a wonderful, engaging way for them to learn, tapping into their naturally inquisitive nature.

Our middle schoolers come from a variety of school and backgrounds but they all have one thing in common....they are naturally curious.

In my science class I try to do activities that taps into that curiosity and allows them to make discoveries on their own.

My Project

These materials will help my students in a number of ways. We spend several months studying Sound and Light and the requested items will be used many times over for demonstrations and hands- on lab activities over the course of our units on Waves, Sound, Light, and their interactions.

Science is not something that can be learned from merely reading a textbook and answering questions.

We watch videos, but nothing compares to seeing something in person, especially when students get to do it themselves.
