My Project

What I love most about teaching Environmental Science is that it is interdisciplinary. Therefore, my students are able to explore the environmental and the natural world from a variety of different perspectives and lenses. My students are intellectual, curious and creative. Therefore, I want to provide them with the basic art supplies to make informational posters, models and learn from visual aides.

Your donation will contribute to a supply of resources students can use to explore science through art and creatively display their understanding of new concepts.

This project will provide a classroom set of colored markers and pencils, glue sticks, construction paper, and large easel paper. Additionally, this project will supply several coloring books that will be used to help students visualize geological process, ecosystems and various other science concepts.

Art and coloring has been shown to have positive mental health benefits. A significant number of my students have experienced trauma, so providing them opportunities to learn and create through art is something I strive to do for them, even within the science classroom.
