My Project

In 4th grade, all US students are eligible for a US National Parks Pass. But what do our kids know about the National Parks system?

I want to build background on America's National Park System by teaching my 3rd graders about the diversity and history of the National Parks BEFORE they get their pass in 4th grade.

In the PNW, we are blessed to have 3 within driving distance, but there are 59 more out there to explore!

With these materials, we will use research skills to learn about diverse geography, plant life, and animal life. Students will work together in groups to explore new places from these resources. With more than half of our class population belong language learners, we will use these stickers, maps, and coloring pages to build background knowledge of the US and expand our academic vocabulary in fun and exciting ways.
