This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students live in Washington, DC. Our students are African-American. Their resources are limited, with over 95% of them qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. They come from low-income neighborhoods in the Washington, DC area. Our public elementary school need a variety of learning opportunities for quality engagement, challenge, and motivation in order to best function. We know supporting our students in this stage of their development can be a turning point for our students. SEL Social Emotional Learning plays a big part in education that empowers our students to believe in themselves and their ability to positively impact the world.
My Project
A color printer will make a big difference in my 2nd grade classroom. Learning in color is engaging! This printer will enable me to print colorful pictures, create posters, and various visual aids like charts, and activities in color for my students.
This printer and extra toner will guarantee that we will have the materials needed to create engaging learning resources for my students.
This printer will make our day-to-day activities fun and more visually appealing for a 2nd grader. Not all my students have a printer at home. Having this printer in our classroom will allow for my students to printer their work and projects using this wireless printer.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
