Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

When I think of my students, I think of the quote by Eleanor Roosevelt, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams."

My students live in a neighborhood that society has marginalized as "socioeconomically disadvantaged", however, day in and day out never stop working to achieve their dreams.

I know I may be their teacher, but they are constantly teaching me about perseverance, determination, and positivity! They are an inspiration to myself, my colleagues, and eachother.

My Project

To turn my students’ dreams into realities and become strong, successful leaders, they will need computer science skills. This professional development will enable me to develop a curriculum to meet these needs. I have my administration’s support to bolster technology instruction to our 8th-10th graders through a class I will teach. I will be able to turn my classroom into the hub of technology in our school, with my students paving the way for their peers.

Today, nothing is impossible with the use of computer science.

With the help of this training, I will be able to put the technology tools of the 21st century into the hands of my students to ensure they are able to achieve anything they put their minds to in high school, college, and beyond!
