Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergarten and 1st graders are going on a learning adventure. I want them to have a new learning experience every day that they come into the classroom.

The farmers market play stand that I am asking for will allow students to explore different math concepts such as counting, categorizing by colors, and placing value on the cost of items that come with the stand.

The tepee and round rug that I am requesting will provide students with a place to relax and read. As they read independently, they will develop their fluency and comprehension skills. Students will also be able to sit on it to decompress when they feel emotionally stressed.

The larger rug will provide students with a space to meet in group settings. They will be able to sit together to discuss books being read aloud, which will help them develop their listening and speaking skills. They will also practice taking turns as they play learning games. As they interact on the rug, they will be one big learning family!
