My Students

My school is a large primary school in an area that is a mix between lower and middle class. Although we are not considered Title I, we are a lower income school. Our school is a community school, ranging from Kindergarten to 2nd grade.

My twenty first grade students love science and would love learning using the STEM model. They love exploring and learning with the hands-on approach.

My Project

I am requesting activities that help foster critical thinking and problem solving strategies, using the STEM approach. Teaching with a STEM method combines science, technology, engineering, and math. Students work in groups and individually to solve problems and work through different science and math concepts. STEM encourages students to learn from their mistakes and that there is not always one right way to solve a problem.

STEM resources will make my students better thinkers and motivate those reluctant learners who work better with their hands.

My students need these hands-on critical thinking activities to help them become problem solvers. These activities will grow my science and math instruction. By using the STEM approach, students will be more prepared to problem solve and think in the future.
