My Students

I love my students and my community! I have amazing students who are driven and always strive to succeed. These students exhibit a wide range of academic skills that demand a variety of ways to enhance their learning. As a teacher, I try to provide engaging, rigorous, and differentiated activities every day.

It is important to me that I provide effective instruction for all my students, whether we are learning at home or school.

I love finding ways to reach all the learning needs in my classroom. Our school is currently closed and I am providing all instruction online. I am also preparing for the possibility of closures in the fall. My project will be beneficial no matter where we will be learning.

My Project

This project will improve my delivery of explicit instruction in both math and reading. Whether we are learning together in the classroom or virtually, my students need quality instruction and quality materials.

One of the areas I would like to improve is my vocabulary instruction.

I am asking for several books from Amazon that will help me better understand and deliver instruction in this area. Additionally, I am asking for some workbooks that students can use to help both vocabulary and encoding.

I am also asking for materials to use in our math lessons. The pipe cleaners, craft sticks, pony beads, rubber bands, and "Shut the Box" game will assist us as we learn about numeracy and place value. These are essential concepts for all students to know and using concrete manipulatives is fun and deepens our learning. If virtual school will continue, then I will deliver these items to my students' homes for specific lessons.

I am also asking for a gift card to Teacher Pay Teachers. This will allow me to purchase digital "structured literacy" materials that students can access online. This will be a way to make materials accessible to all my students even if we are not learning together.
