My Students

My students are eager to learn and want to succeed. Many of them do not receive much support or have many resources at home to be very successful, so it's my job to provide that for them at school. Overall, my class is full of very visual learners who love to read and enjoy playing learning games. Many of my students have few books at home, and by providing a wide range of titles in our classroom, I can ensure that my students are able to read books of interest!

My Project

Research has shown that students learn well from teaching through picture books. Their vocabulary grows and context is formed, and experiences improve. I'm requesting new books (and a few movies) that my students can use in third grade to grow their knowledge.

This collection of books and movies will help my students to be able to experience and expand on the concepts that they will learn in third grade.

The books teach topics like the scientific method, matter, simple machines, soil, animal adaptations, and more. The books will be well loved and read by students for many years to come.
