Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school, we strive to provide students with hands-on learning experiences that spark curiosity and expand their worldviews. On May 1st, during the Island Pacific Asian Event, our Korean language students will lead a cultural showcase, allowing their peers to explore the richness of Korean traditions through food, games, and traditional clothing.

A highlight of this event will be the Hanbok Experience.

With the generous donation of Hanbok (traditional Korean attire), students will have the chance to try them on. To make this moment even more special, we will use an instant camera to take photos of students in Hanbok and give them their pictures as souvenirs. This will allow them to cherish the experience for years to come. Additionally, students will taste authentic Korean food like tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) and mandu (dumplings) and participate in traditional Korean games such as Jegichagi, Tuho, and Gonggi, helping them engage with Korean culture in a fun and interactive way.

Leading up to the event, our Korean language students will receive training throughout April, preparing them to lead activities and share their knowledge. This project will boost students’ confidence, leadership skills, and appreciation for cultural exchange. Your support will help provide essential resources, such as instant film for the Hanbok photos, ensuring that every student leaves with a meaningful memory.

We truly appreciate your generosity in making this event possible. Your contribution will create a lasting impact, inspiring students to embrace cultural diversity and new experiences. Thank you for helping us bring the beauty of Korean culture to our school!
