This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

As a special educator, I am always looking for resources to make learning more relevant to my students. Social emotional learning is no different! So often, minority students do not see themselves as characters within the books they read. My goal is to change that! I am also looking to expand my social emotional library to include books highlighting boys expressing their emotions. So often, young boys are not encouraged to show their emotions, my goal is to change that narrative! I am aiming to make learning social skills more fun, real, and accessible for all learners within my classroom.
