Expanding SEL Yoga Training For My Little Yogies!

I need to further my yoga certification with Breathe For Change Yoga Training so I can expand training to be the best SEL yoga informed teacher for my students!

My Project

I am currently teaching art and yoga at my school. We are a small but mighty school varying from 16-18 students at a time. We started with students that lived residentially and have expanded to a few students from public schools in town. We are hoping for a bigger school next year! This is my seventh year and I could not be more grateful for this job. When I accepted the position, I had no idea how this job would shape me into who I am now. Not only am I a better teacher, I'm a better mother, fiancé, daughter, friend, and overall person. As stressful as this job can be, I wouldn't have it any other way. These students are our future, we have to help them cope with trying times or difficult situations they may experience. Students have opened up about their past traumas from time to time and I am in absolute awe of them to be forgiving and willing to give people a chance again. It makes me want to try harder to provide them with a safe space to learn and grow. I want to continue teaching them how to work through stress, anxiety, anger.

I have made it my goal to be the best yoga teacher and mentor for my students because they deserve nothing less and need to take the Breathe For Change Yoga Training.

My students are incredible people, who have so much to offer! I have learned so much this year teaching yoga. It is absolutely rewarding to hear that they are excited for yoga and at times beg for relaxation time. Lesson plans may change and I accommodate to the students and what they need that day. Overall, they love the routine and use their yoga skills quite often!
