My Project

I'm moving from a fourth grade classroom to second grade next school year, and I need to pump up the picture book section of my classroom library. I have some books I'm excited to share with my new students, but I know many of those kiddos will feel more comfortable reading picture books over chapter books at the start of the school year.

I've put together a collection of picture books that include cleverly written and beautifully illustrated stories.

My family has many of these titles at home, and I know how much my own children have enjoyed reading them over the years. A big factor in building your reading skills is finding engaging stories that make you want to keep reading. My hope is that the books here will inspire some of my struggling readers to keep going, even when the task is daunting.

My goal as a teacher is to help my students grow, and offering a wide variety of eye-catching, humorous picture books is one way I can make that happen. These books will help encourage them to read and offer a wider selection to choose from as they practice their reading skills.
