My Project

The ability to CODE will be a necessary job skill in the near future. The programmable Bee-Bots that I am requesting are an engaging way to allow my young students to get a head start on learning this skill as well as an aid in reinforcing the majority of skills learned in the classroom. Bee-Bots help introduce young children to coding and robotics through fun, exploration-based play. They are programmable bee robots that can be programmed by using the arrows on their backs to move forward, backward or turn 90 degrees.

Bee-Bots are used for more than just a lesson on coding, students will also be practicing counting, sequencing, problem-solving, estimating, directionality and vocabulary.

Integrating a Digital Technologies curriculum with other areas of the curriculum helps to create hands-on learning experiences that deepen students' understanding of particular skills. By planning and inputting a sequence of commands, children can direct Bee-Bots to move in different directions on a flat surface or various grid-like mats combining both coding skills and the reinforcement of previously learned classroom curriculum.

I believe that learning these skills early will provide my students a fun and exciting way to reinforce skills and learn new ones giving them greater opportunities for their futures.
