This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As the percussion and steel band programs at FDHS continue to expand and grow, we are encountering challenges with our current classroom storage capacity. The growth of both our programs reflects the enthusiasm of our students, but necessitates improved storage solutions that can accommodate our expanding inventory while preserving room for more students and activities. To effectively support our growing needs, we are in need of additional storage solutions for music materials and files, as well as storage for mallets, sticks, and small instruments. Our current storage arrangements are becoming insufficient, leading to clutter that takes up our already limited shared space.

Our goal is to enhance the organization of our shared space, facilitating a more conducive environment for both programs to thrive collaboratively.

By implementing more efficient storage solutions, we aim to create a space that fosters collaboration between the percussion and steel band programs while catering to their different needs. This improvement will not only benefit our students in terms of accessibility and ease of use, but will also promote a culture of care as students participate in the maintenance of their learning environment while using new efficient tools.
